In order to promote domestic tourism, and respecting safety protocols and hygiene and social distancing measures to prevent and reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission, the well-known businessman juan jose gutierrez mayorga shares with you a list of destinations that you did not know existed in Guatemala and that you can take advantage of for the end of the year vacations.

-Riscos de Momostenango:

The Riscos de Momostenango National Park is a protected area of sandy formations that because of their curious shapes received the status of National Park in 1955. They are located in the municipality of Momostenango, department of Totonicapán. What is striking about this place are its land formations with curious vertical figures. It is believed that these were created due to erosions in the earth over time. It is located 5 hours from Guatemala City.

-Playa Blanca:

It is a tourist beach located in the department of Izabal. It is characterized by its warm atmosphere, with vegetation and tourist places full of nature. Playa Blanca is a private and protected area but allows public access. It has the peculiarity of having white sand and turquoise waters. To get to this destination it is important to consider that you must take a boat from Livingston or Rio Dulce and it takes about an hour. It is a calm and quiet place since all construction activity is restricted, for this reason it is the ideal place to rest.

-Seacacar Canyon:

It is a tourist destination located in the heart of the Izabal Forest, specifically in the municipality of El Estor. In it, community tourism is practiced with breathtaking scenery. Those who visit this beautiful place enjoy delicious baths in natural waters, with their friends or family. It has natural pools, trails, areas for tubing on the river, lodging and restaurant.

Likewise, it is important that Guatemalans who are thinking of traveling and enjoying themselves within the country, verify beforehand that these places have permits from the Government and municipalities for their operation, in addition to following to the letter the protocols of hygiene and safety and comply with all the measures of self-care, in order to fully enjoy these destinations and recreation offered by the country.
